MSRON 5 Conducts Harbor Security
U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard personnel operate harbor security, force protection boats assigned to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron (MSRON) 5 as Combined Task Group (CTG) 56.5 to provide port security supporting U.S. Third Army. U.S. Coast Guard units deploy with U.S. Navy personnel as a part of the Maritime Expeditionary Squadron under the Naval Expeditionary Combat Command supporting operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
