Blue Angels Heading to El Centro

The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron - The Blue Angels - will arrive at Naval Air Facility El Centro Sunday, January 3, 2010. The Blue Angels F-18 Hornets are expected to arrive at the El Centro base at 4:00 p.m. Sunday , January 3, 2010.
While in the Imperial Valley, the teams winter home, they will complete at least 120 training flights during their 10-week stay.
The training will end with the Blue Angels first airshow of the 2010 season on March 13, 2010 at Naval Air Facility El Centro. The teams schedule continues through November when they wind up at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida the weekend of November 12 and 13, 2010.
Fat Albert, the Blue Angels C-130, is expected to arrive at NAF El Centro Sunday at about 5:30 p.m. with 15 maintenance personnel and equipment. The remainder of the maintenance and support personnel will arrive on a C-9 transport aircraft at an undetermined time.
