Mark Cleary is reporting this morning the following on one of the Shaw AFB A/D freqs:
I first noticed Shaw Approach on a new freq, 287.0, on Feb. 19 then back to 385.6 until this morning when they are back on 287.0.I see the change has finally appeared in the NOTAMs:
M0137/09 - APPROACH CONTROL UHF FREQ 385.6 OUT OF SERVICE. CONTACT APPROACHCONTROL ON UHF FREQ 287.0. 27 FEB 16:50 2009 UNTIL 06 MAR 23:59 2009. CREATED:27 FEB 16:53 2009
For Mark and others, I do not expect that this service will remain on 287.000 MHz. That portion of the spectrum appears to be destined for other uses. Your wandering A/D service freq should move again, maybe soon.
Thanks to Mark for sharing this with the Milcom Monitoring Post.
